Yes! :)
Why do you want to hide these away? IIRC you wanted to have a python
rpm containing the latest python bits (if the vendor does not already
provide it). This should be installable w/o conflicts to the vendor
python (like python1 and python2 coexist).
You only may not use shortcuts like /usr/bin/python and
/usr/bin/python2. But if you package python 3.1.2 you own
/usr/bin/python312 :)
And all python version dependent packages go into
/usr/lib/python3.1.2.
