I'll seriously start questioning my own sanity the day I start thinking a
names like kernel-module-alsa-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl are sane :) 
However it IS the only currently known technically correct solution to the
problem at hand, which is all that I care about, it's up to the higher
level tools to hide the hideousness from the user if at all possible.
