[repo-coord] repo-janitor configurations

All:

There are a few approaches to repo-janitor that I'd like to get a
consensus on. First, one might rsync/mirror the remote repository
locally and then run repo-janitor to set up the web pages. Or, second,
one might configure repo-janitor to dig up packages directly from the
remote repository. Which one do you use? What are the advantages?

Also, instead of reinventing the wheel, can we bring together a solid
core of repo-janitor configurations that include the major
repositories. I'd like to see: atrpms.xml, kde-redhat.xml, dag.xml,
freshrpms.xml, os.xml and more. Optimally, the configuration should
layout the directory structure exactly the way the original repo has
it; but, slight modifications may be accepted such as the os.xml. To
be nice, a set of mirrors should be included or maybe a comment such as
<!-- Insert closest mirror here -->.

Thoughts?
