Just to clarify and update this original report,
The noise burst problem is fixed in 187.
The audio sync problem appears to be an inability of the system to
recover sync after a mpeg2ts stream hit. On some channels, once lost,
sync is gone forever and just keeps getting worse.
The cpu usage issue is under control with an offering to the Nvidia gods
in xorg.conf, however the system cannot start watch live tv on a 1080i
broadcast with any video selection other than SLIM. Lesser res channels
do start normally, so I'm suspecting an overtaxed cpu.
Manual tuner selection via the "Y" key is still broken. In a system
with two dvb tuners and a PVR, the selection is first dvb, PVR, first
dvb, etc.
Live reading of dvb signal strength using F7 seems to have disappeared
completely from 0.21. That's a serious omission because it's the only
reliable way to orient an antenna for digital ota reception, and chase
signal loss problems. The signal strength that pops up on the OSD when
changing channels is totally unreliable and always has been. I've seen
that read 29% percent when the true signal strength was nearer 80%.
For me, gaining weather while accepting these other deficiencies doesn't
compute. Seems like 0.20.2 is still looking good.
