It's a big bump in the road and I'd bet that the MPAA helped put it 
there but there are alternatives.

Two months is not much time for the thousands of legal users to recover 
so the first effort should be an organized appeal for more time.

My new Panny flat panel has TV Guide built in and it is scraping this 
same data off the air somewhere.  Someone knows how it's done and if a 
TV set can do it so can MythTV.

This might be a business opportunity for someone to take out a 
commercial license to receive the data and then re-distribute it to 
MythTV users for $1 or $2 per month.

There is always web scraping.  The Australians have been doing that for 
years.
