My hack appears to be working quite nicely. Tested for me by Stuart
Auchterlonie w/a Nebula card:

class: CAPTURE
bus: PCI
detached: 0
driver: bt878
desc: "Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture"
vendorId: 109e
deviceId: 0878
subVendorId: 0071
subDeviceId: 0101
pciType: 1
pcidom: 0
pcibus: 5
pcidev: 9
pcifn: 1

class: CAPTURE
bus: PCI
detached: 0
driver: dvb-bt8xx
desc: "Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture"
vendorId: 109e
deviceId: 036e
subVendorId: 0071
subDeviceId: 0101
pciType: 1
pcidom: 0
pcibus: 5
pcidev: 9
pcifn: 0

Everything loads up automatically for him. Coolness. Oh, and I talked to the
kudzu maintainer. His response was that the driver needs fixing -- i.e., the
dvb-bt8xx module ought to have the pci aliases in it (and similar for
cx88-dvb). In the mean time though, I can just repeat this hack for cx88-dvb
for a mythdora kudzu build.
