Thanks for the suggestion. As far as I know, there is no user data for
vlc; at least there's no ~/.vlc or ~/.vlcrc. And another user has the
same issue. Yet a Fedora-15 partition on the same system is okay, so it
doesn't seem to be hardware-related.
