Hi list,
I have installed the rolling version of Scientific Linux, Beta 1 to
run as a MythTv frontend. Almost everything runs beautifully, except
lirc. I have a Holtek Speedlink that I got running under Fedora 14
with the devinput driver. I also have an old PVR-350 with remote that
used to work under Centos 5, before something happened with
ivtv/video4linux.
I cannot seem to get any of these to work.
For the Hauppauge I can't seem to find any kernelmodules. I suppose I
am not looking in the right places? Anybody know how to build these on
rhel6? I am not even sure which I need, is it lirc_dev and lirc_i2c or
lirc_zilog? I have tried building 0.8.6 manually but it freaks out.
0.8.7 builds and installs, but I can't seem to get that to work
either. I have also tried rpmbuilding lirc from fedora 12 and 13
without much success.
For the devinput, using ATrpms lirc-packages, it seems I can install
it just as on Fedora 14, it initializes:
# lircd -H devinput
--device=/dev/input/by-id/usb-HOLTEK_YaoCoo-event-kbd
--output=/dev/lircd
Jan 23 22:18:26 marie-2011L lircd-0.8.4a[17893]: lircd(devinput) ready
Jan 23 22:18:33 marie-2011L lircd-0.8.4a[17893]: accepted new client
on /dev/lircd
Jan 23 22:18:33 marie-2011L lircd-0.8.4a[17893]: initializing
'/dev/input/by-id/usb-HOLTEK_YaoCoo-event-kbd'
but upon running irw there is no output whatsoever.
Any ideas?
