As a FYI.
I just tested the following structure which works OK.

change nvidia-graphics-190.53/nvidia_drv.so to
change nvidia-graphics-195.36.15/nvidia_drv.so to
and ln "the one to use" to nvidia_drv.so
(as this works would indicate it is indeed looking in sub-dirs)
