A friend of mine used the following .asoundrc and it works on F12. I'm not
sure if it's analog or SPDIF, but it might be worth a try:
pcm.notpulse {
type hw
card 1
device 0
}
ctl.notpulse {
type hw
card 1
device 0
}
mythtv is configured for ALSA:notpulse
