I can think of two things:

o not all of dovecot was restarted (or none at all?). Try restarting
  dovecot or even rebooting.

o You have another (1.1.2) copy of dovecot under /usr/local perhaps?
  Did you ever build dovecot yourself? Or maybe copied the binaries
  around?

I can't imagine that the source code has two different variables for
dovecot's version, so that the author may forget to update one. But
that may then also be the case if there is no trace of 1.1.2 anymore
on your system (disk or memory/running).

In that case it needs to be reported upstream.
