For CD/DVD the device flags being at the end when the contents of the
CD/DVD are streamed through.

E.g. if you burn a couple of MB on a 4.7GB DVD, reading the device
will stop after the few MBs, not after the whole disc. Or rephrased:
On CD/DVD dd will really only copy over the contents and not pad-fill
the iso in any way.

I would *assume* that bluray device drivers work in a similar way.
