If you get a nvidia card <= 7xxxx (not 8xxxx or 9xxxx) then you can
use XvMC which is using the hardware decoder ...

You should see a big improvements , however with XvMC there are some
stuff that aren't as pretty : like the OSD : it will be in black and
white only
