No, 71.86 is the legacy nvidia.
You just need to download these two files, plus the corresponding kernel
module,
and do: rpm -Uvh nvidia-graphics173*.rpm
nvidia-graphics173.14.05-173.14.05-98.fc8.x86_64.rpm
nvidia-graphics173.14.05-libs-173.14.05-98.fc8.x86_64.rpm
These files are for x86_64. For i386, just download the equivalent rpms.
If everything installs O.K., then, reboot.
