I was wondering if you saw this earlier post. I get this error at boot that I have tried to resolve using the forums and searches without success. It happens at boot.
after Start service appears on the screen I get the error. Right before the X window loads. ---------------------Start Service local(date time) using runtime prefix = /usr , libdir = /usr/lib(date time) Cannot locate your home directory. Please set the environment variable HOME or MYTHCONFDIR Could not initialize myth context. Exiting. ------------------------------- I have tried to manually change the mythbackend scripts to indicate that my home directory is /home/mythtv with no results. They are the mythbackend scripts under /etc/sysconfig/ and /etc/rc.d/init.d I am running the latest under fedora 8 kernel. -85 I think. It started happening with a prior kernel update. Any help would be appreciated as the forums do not seem to address this error. Joe
