It seems to me that your lirc driver may have been incorporated in the
kernel,
and this may be the reason for the repetition.  I had this problem some time
ago,
and the solution was not using the lirc kmdl anymore (and of course I had to
reconfigurate
my remote codes). The problem appeared in myth and tvtime.
