Anyone else having DVD (or other) playback issues with the latest Mythtv
packages from the atrpms-bleeding repo (0.21.179 series)? When I start to
play a DVD the "splash screen" and accompanying audio is fine, then the
"Title Menu" looks OK. However, once I choose a title playback goes crazy;
picture breaks up and jumps, stuttering audio, basically completely
unwatchable. When I run 'mythfrontend' from a terminal window, and then go
back to it while trying to play the DVD I get constant errors like the
following:

This is happening on a TV series DVD. I played an episode prior to
upgrading to this latest of version of mythtv and it was fine, as it has
been all along. Right after the upgrade I tried playing the next episode
and this is when the problems started, so in my mind it is clearly something
in the latest release causing the problem. I also tried playing on another
frontend and had the same issues there.
I found a somewhat similar report in the Mythtv mailing lists, but that post
was referring to the 0.21-178 series, and mentioned issues with the menus
and not playback; basically the opposite of what I am seeing.
So far LiveTV and playback of recorded programs seems fine. I use 'mplayer'
for for video playback, which is OK. I haven't tried switching back to the
Internal player to test if the problem exists here as well. I prefer the
Internal player for DVD playback because of the menu navigation.
(Note: just before posting this I tried a different DVD and that seemed OK.
However, there still seems to be something in this latest release that
caused the issues with this DVD series set.)
