[ATrpms-users] lm_sensors difference in F8 vs. ATrpms

I was wondering if there is a document on what is different in the
lm_sensors packages provided by ATrpms vs. those contained in Fedora 8. I
notice the versions match but the releases are newer in ATrpms. I also
notice ATrpms contains a "sensord" package which is not part of F8. What
improvements are in the ATrpms packages that Fedora does not include?
I'm running a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p and would like to monitor the
thinkpad_acpi (formerly ibm_acpi) values using the GNOME applet
gnome-applet-sensors. Has anyone gotten fan monitoring working on the
Lenovo Thinkpad T61 or T61p? At the moment, gnome-applet-sensors only
detects my ACPI CPU (core 0 and 1) and GPU temperatures. sensors-detect
only detects the "coretemp" module should be loaded. I can "cat
/proc/acpi/ibm/fan" and see the fan speed.
Thanks.
/Brian/
