Axel,
My system seems stable after a day of operation and ten or so recordings.
Maybe I missed something in the process of stopping and starting the service.

I downloaded and manually installed the debuginfo package. However, I'm still
a bit unclear on how to generate a backtrace. I've read the instructions at

http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-22.html#ss22.2

regarding gdb. However, those instructions generate a bunch of symbol error
messages when I run gdb. Are there other docs for this process? I don't want
to be accused of not RTFMing! :)
