Not meaning to demenour atrpms in any way, but Dag Wieers (dag's repo or
rpmforge) promptly make updates available a day or two after release. 

I've been using Dag's for years for keeping my clamav up to date. Two packages
he supplies and I use:

clamav
clamav-db

He also has others (clamav-devel etc).
