Yum does work correctly.

I'm just not sure if it's just my systems or the current Fedora release which 
is bugging me.

One of the issues I have is that on my x86_64 system I find a lot of fc7 
packages left and also on the F8 DVD I find fc7 packages (?!?). This is quite 
confusing and what is weird is that a yum update doesn't bring up any 
packages for upgrading. The repositories that are enabled are all Fedora 8, 
but in the "available" tab I even see some fc6 packages. This puzzles me 
quite a bit. I already cleaned yum's metadata but these packages stay 
available.

I'm not sure if it's normal to have fc7 files on a fc8 DVD. Perhaps I 
downloaded a wrong image.
