ivtv was for a long time an own project. Some months ago Hans shaped
the code and submitted it to v4l (and through v4l it gets in the
kernel). Since then Hans is maintaining the code at both places.

So actually it isn't clear which version is the better at different
points in time. Currently the itvt-kmdl only contains the fb part and
the nopn-fb part is taken from the kernel. So if you haven't a PRV350
then you need neither.
