I'm sorry that I did not cut, or record the last session with this,
but I noticed that the problem seems to be with the yum plugin that wants to
remove the kernels. Look at the packages that are marked for removal. You'll
notice that it is "kernel -2.6.22.4-65.fc7" (or that oldest and slated for
removal) and "kernel-devel -2.6.22.4-65.fc7" or something very close to that.
Again, I didn't record the exact words. So the process thinks that it is going
to erase the "kernel" (because of the space in the name) which defaults to the
latest one. Bummer, and why the failed dependencies for /boot/vmlinuz-<rev of
latest kernel>
You need to manually yum erase the kernel & *-kmdl-<rev to remove>.
Then do a "yum --skip-broken update" to get the latest kernel and the *kmdl*
packages.
