[ATrpms-users] Is kmod-ntfs still necessary or helpful if using ntfs-3g?

Specifically, I have been using ntfs-3g to mount, read/write, etc. my
ntfs partitions for more than a year now.
I believe that kmod-ntfs represents the 'old' way of reading (but not
writing) ntfs files in the pre-ntfs-3g days.
Is there any need or reason to still keep kmod-ntfs on my system if I
am using ntfs-3g?
Thanks
