Well, there is a default disttag tacked to it if you don't provide
your own. But that is just a naming convention it should not affect
the driver.
Have you checked whether loading the nvidia module succeeds? You still
need the userland bits as well for the X driver.

Can you try the rpms I built for centosplus? If these work, we should
compare build logs.

Many kmdls have been already uploaded. Maybe alsa and nvidia-graphics
are already in the repo. :)
