I was still using the 1.0.12 version for the libs and utils package because I 
had some issues with Alsa also the previous upgrade.

It seems the same happened again.
At this moment I'm not sure if making symlinks from /etc/alsa/* 
to /usr/share/alsa/* solves the issue. I both created the symlinks and 
dropped back to the older version for now.
