Have you got the x86_64 kernel modules installed? You seem to be
running a 64-bit kernel.

What dmesg/syslog output do you see when the LIRC modules are loaded?

What LIRC devices do you have? Perhaps you need to start lircd with
the '--device' option, or check your LIRC udev rules.
