I think I have tried everything. But since I feel comfortable messing with
rpms
manually, this problem did not affect me very much (unless I leave a machine
with automatic updates and the next day its X is off until I go there to
remove the previous kmdl).

I still have some FC5 to be upgraded. I will try again today and report the
result.
