Hello,
I've been trying to bring up mythtv on a machine with centos5. I've
installed video4linux package, but no /dev/dvb devices are created during boot:
video4linux.i386 1:20070420-80.el5
installed
video4linux-kmdl-2.6.18-8.el5.i686 1:20070420-80.el5 installed
There are no error messages of any type in dmesg. There are no
messages containing 'dvb', 'flexcop', etc, either. 'lspci' shows the
two HD5000's installed. I've read in several places that these cards
may need firmware, but I've been unable to find specifically what
firmware file is required, if any. I have the following firmware
files in /lib/firmware:
v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw
v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
v4l-cx25840.fw
v4l-pvrusb2-24xxx-01.fw
v4l-pvrusb2-29xxx-01.fw
At this point I'm guessing that the el5 version of video4linux-kmdl
was built without flexcop or b2c2 support. I'd like to rebuild
video4linux-kmdl-2.6.18-8.el5.i686. Could someone provide pointers to
the source for this package? Any tips on the build process would also
be appreciated.
Also, if these questions are better suited for another board, please
let me know where to post.
TIA,
TB
