Me, too.  ;)  I did just try something else and have discovered that
creating a 3GB file (well, 3000MB) gives me the swap error while going
back to 2GB (2000MB) does not.  I have 2.5GB installed and plan on
more so I was just trying to be proactive in creating a larger file
than before.  Maybe some internal limit is set (signed 32 bit size)?
