[ATrpms-users] Need MythTV 0.18/FC3/ATRPMs Upgrade Advice

Axel,

Thanks for the reply. I have been out of the loop lately so I missed the
notices of FC3 being discontinued.

Let me start by saying that I am not a Linux expert, but I can find my
way...eventually. I used Jarod's guide and a fair amount of experience with
other kinds of software to get where I am now.

Backup? Don't I wish I could back up my system :) I am flying without a
net here...

As for depsolver, I've been using apt. Should I continue this or switch to
yum?

At the risk of sounding like a dope, I probably need a little more guidance
on the upgrade to FC6. When you say upgrade using the FC6 DVD, is this
truly an upgrade, or an overlay of my existing O/S? Is there a wiki or
other site that provides good guidance in your opinion? I also assume the
depsolver would be used to install/upgrade all the necessary packages after FC6
is there? This tracks with what I did to install FC3 and bring in all the
packages per Jarod's guide. I seem to recall it was an apt-get dist-upgrade
to do this.

Thanks,
Larry
