[ATrpms-users] FC5 occasional Smart/rpm 'race' conditions - solved?

I've used Smart on FC5 for many months, but occasionally it has hung
during cache-rebuild, and I've also occasionally found rpmq racing under
anacron.
This looked like smart issue196, http://tracker.labix.org/issue196,
which came up yesterday in the Smart list and is apparently 'resolved',
so I renamed my 'Channels' folder and tried to 'Update Channels'. This
failed when it got to fedoralegacyupdates, and I couldn't get Smart to
work again until I restored my original Channels folder. I've now
disabled the FC5 legacyupdates channel, which was last modified in August.
It's too early to say whether this has stopped the difficulties. I
think I first had them around the time that 2.6.18 came in.
