I was doing an update this morning which meant I ended up picking up the

IVTV  ====================

The only way I was able to get the ivtv module to load was to manually 
roll back to the previous version of the v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw file. I also 
tried loading from the ivtvdriver.org's firmware.tar.gz but I also got 
the same result (no surprise there). I'm not sure why the file would 
have changed size or why Julian was able to load it but I am not. Any 
ideas?
