atrpms-users are probably more matching. :)

for basic operation you only need the matching (!) firmware. For what
RHEL4 ships in its kernel (ipw2200 1.0.10) it's

http://dl.atrpms.net/all/ipw2200-firmware-2.4-8.at.noarch.rpm

This is the mapping:
    * driver before v0.6: firmware v1.2
    * driver versions v0.6-v0.16: firmware v2.0
    * driver versions v0.17-v0.18: firmware v2.1
    * driver versions v0.19-v1.0.3 (includes stable v1.0.0): (NOTE:
      v1.0.0 is in 2.6.14-rc1 and -rc2) firmware v2.2
    * driver versions v1.0.4-v1.0.6: firmware v2.3
    * driver versions v1.0.7 and newer, (includes stable v1.1.0):
      firmware v2.4
    * driver versions v1.1.1 and newer firmware v3.0

ATrpms also supplies the latest stable ipw2200 driver (currently
1.2.0)

       http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/ipw2200/

and the latest development version (currently 1.2.1)

       http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/ipw2200-testing/

Both of which need

http://dl.atrpms.net/all/ipw2200-firmware-3.0-9.at.noarch.rpm

and also ieee80211

http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/ieee80211/
