[ATrpms-users] How do the modules in video4linux kmdl differ from stock kernel?

The video4linux project feeds the kernel with "snapshots" of its code
as well as severe bugfixes and security issues withing minor kernel
releases.

IOW video4linux kmdls will probably be a couple of month ahead of the
kernel. But the authors are the same.

No, no need to, it is all packaged in a way that rpm -e will rectify
everything (other than rmmod'ing any loaded module).

No rpm should overwrite stuff of other rpms. In fact a depsolver would
choke on that with "file conflicts".

So you're safe to install kmdls, modprobe them, test them, and if you
don't like them, rpm -e & rmmod them.
