I had already tried yum clean all :-(

I also posted the bug at bugzilla.redhat.com where it got marked as a 
duplicate of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=252461.  It is 
apparently fixed in rawhide as well as older versions than 3.2.2.
