True, and since most users actually demand a "full" install mode it is
the most common install use case. If you want to not have mythtv
upgrade itself to the new mode you need to do some legwork.

That only happens if you try to circumevent the above.
So the statement remains: If you want tp upgrade _mythtv_ use the
conventional upgrade mechanisms.
To cut a long story short: Just do the upgrade and remove whathever
you don't need afterwards. You lose some bandwidth, but we already
wasted that on this thread already ;)
