What alsa version? I am using the latest kernel module from ATrpms,
and alsa-lib-1.0.14-0.1.rc1.fc6 from updates, just fine.
Furthermore, it is always possible to downgrade. Just remove the previous
rpms and install the new ones, or try
rpm -Uvh --force alsa*.rpm
