No, kernel tainted has to do with license tainting, if you like to
call it that way.

What does lspci suggest? Also check lshw.

The two messages are unrelated. The important one is the second: Is
your device on ports 0x220-0x22f? If yes, did you perhaps modprobe
something else that occupies these resources? If not, maybe you need
to pass these parameters to the module?

I don't see the above ports anywhere.

Yes, you should try that, too, if nothing else helps, also check the
changelogs on alsa whether there is any change that applies to
es18xx. All I could find with a quick search was

 + ES18xx driver
    - Port the rest of ALSA ISA drivers to isa_driver

in 1.0.14rc3.
