Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my Mythbox from FC4 to FC6. Now multiple modules will
not load due to a conflict between 586 and 686 versions.
I am unclear whether I should use 586 or 686 versions and how I can force
yum to select one of them. Can anyone give me a hint on what to do?
My CPU is an Athlon 2200+ (1.8 GHz).
And I get:
# rpm -qa --qf '%{name}-%{version}-%{release}.%{arch}\n' ivtv\* kernel\*
glibc\*
ivtv-firmware-audio-0.0.1-5.at.noarch
kernel-devel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i686
kernel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i586
glibc-headers-2.5-3.i386
ivtv-0.10.1-126.fc6.at.i386
ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-9.at.noarch
glibc-common-2.5-3.i386
ivtv-firmware-1.8a-9.at.noarch
kernel-2.6.20-1.2933.fc6.i586
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.20-1.2933.fc6-0.10.1-126.fc6.at.i686
ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-9.at.noarch
glibc-devel-2.5-3.i386
glibc-2.5-3.i686
kernel-headers-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i386
Apparently the FC6 DVD installed a kernel i586 and a kernel-devel i686 (both
2.6.18). I have upgraded to a kernel 2.6.20 i586.
All the kmdls that I have got from atrpms are i686.
So is my CPU a i586 or could I attempt to get a i686 kernel?
Best regards
Niels Dybdahl
