Yes, mplayer works with or without -idx can seek fine forward and back

Yes, I have files that I used to be able to seek forward/back with mythtv
internal player but now I cannot.  Those same files still work with
mplayer.  Mencoder -idx fixed one of them for mythtv.  I also have
transcoded files that I still work fine in mythtv.
