[ATrpms-users] Mythtv black screen in LiveTV mode with dvb-t and saa7134 installed

I recently added a Freecom USB dvb-t device to my FC5 system.  I'm in 
the UK.  A Medion saa7134 is still fitted.  Mythtv will record and 
playback, and there is off-air schedule info for some but not all of the 
dvb channels.  Xine has so far given excellent live tv with little fuss. 
  Mplayer seems to require more experimentation and wants me to get a 
faster system.

But Myth LiveTV gives silence and a black screen.  Mythbackend reports

TVRec(1): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
VIDIOCGMBUF:: Invalid argument

and the frontend times out waiting for the recorder to start.

These are the same symptoms that I reported on 29 July.  They went away 
when, at Axel's prompt, I uninstalled v4l and the v4l-kmdl.  The analog 
system continued to work then, but the kmdl contains most of the dvb 
stuff and now I want that.

Do I need to disable the analog system?  I would prefer not to, if only 
because it offers an input for my VCR 'archive'.
