Hm, that's not the desired behaviour, but it turns out to be the
expected (e.g. bug in Obsoletes)

Nothing, these Obsoletes should better become Conflicts. The best
workaround for now is to remove nvidia*-devel packages
altogether. They are only needed for rebuilding mplayer, so unless you
need to build against nvidia libs you can safely remove them.
