Axel,

The answer that I received that I feel is most appropriate on the
MythTV-Dev list, is that there whouldn't be a frontend and backend
designation anymore.

Bruce Markey's post in response to my post on MythTV-Dev:

Basically he's saying that anything from the main MythTV tarball should be
included in a MythTV RPM, because almost any of the programs can be run on
almost any system - frontend, backend, or other.

I am willing to make the necessary changes to update the .spec file and
bundle a new package if this meets with your goals.
