I was puzzled yesterday by the update in Dries's channel, and wondered 
if I ought to tell anyone.  This may be of interest.

libcdio was shown as an upgrade, but was left untouched by a general 
smart upgrade.  On an attempt to impose the libcdio upgrade, smart 
wanted to uninstall most of Dries' packages.  I got the same proposal 
when I tried to uninstall the resident version of libcdio.  Eventually I 
just locked the older version in place.
