Hmmm, can you check "cat /sys/power/suspend2/file/enabled"?

With Suspend 2.2.8.4 the kernel config options changed, but filewriter
should be still there.

What does dmesg say about this?

It shouldn't. It did work with the FC6-base kernel (2.6.18-1.2789)?
