Yes, and its because of posts like this that a month ago I decided
it was time to upgrade my happily running (but aging) FC1/Myth 0.16
box to 0.19 which I thought also meant moving to FC4. I only wish someone
had warned me about the big tarpit I was stepping into.

I believe I'm almost done, and maybe all the problems were my
own damn fault for not looking before leaping, but my sense is that this
is harder than it should have been.

I'm about to rebuild myth so it ignores the ioctl() error setting the volume
on the M179 card and if ivtv still doesn't work well with the i2c remote for
the PVR card, I'll rebuild that too or pull my serial IR receiver off my other
box until they  get that fixed.

[ Jarod, apologies if you see this twice, the 1st one was sent off the
list by accident. Welcome to Massachusetts by the way, maybe we'll run
