[ATrpms-users] Setting up MythTV on FC5

Ok, I'm trying my luck with Myth on FC5.

I've run into a few problems. I'm sure some of these are due
to my own stupidity, and others just because not all the
packages are up to date yet.

I've been roughly following Jarod Wilson's FC4 setup guide
(http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php). 

The journey so far...

1. The X server won't start with nvidia-graphics8178.

This seems to be the non-GPL modules issue with the
2.6.15-1.2054_FC5 kernel.
(http://lwn.net/Articles/175796/)...so the solution is
probably to wait for the kernel update, or else dive in and
patch the kernel!


2. The lirc-kmdl-2.6.15-1.2054*.rpm packages are missing
from atrpms

This is a little strange, because it looks like the
lirc.spec file should build them. I haven't tried rebuilding
the src rpm yet.

3. There is a bug in xmltv-0.5.42-64 which shows up in
mythtvsetup if you choose a non-US listings grabber.

They say this has been fixed in CVS, so I tried a quick fix
just copying the tv_* scripts from a cvs build over the
existing versions. Unfortunately this failed...it looks like
they've added some new Perl modules which need to be
installed too.
