That's difficult. It's an unexpected (from the user's POV) action for
a package, and if done wrongly it could mess your grub.conf,
e.g. render your system unusable.

And rpm installs are supposed to be silent, e.g. provide no output at
all.

But it needs to get better documented, or maybe another solution can
be found (e.g. maybe the ivtv kernel module could manage this during
initialization?).
