No, it's the other way around. Formerly the new code was called
madwifi-ng. Now that it is official it is called simply madwifi.

You did find a bug, i.e. madwifi should obsolete madwifi-ng. It didn't
hit many, because madwifi-ng was never in stable. I'll fix that in the
next package set, thanks!
